What’s the Best Australian Website to Sell My Car?

So my wife wants to sell her car as she has upgraded for work purpose and with her being illiterate in the auto space I’ve jumped online to see what’s the best avenue to do it. Alfa Romeo GT JTS Monza

Immediately I turn on my SEO mind and start the research. Here are my findings:

There are four players in this market

http://www.drive.com.au/
http://www.gumtree.com.au/
http://www.carsales.com.au/
and
http://www.carsguide.com.au/

According to Similiar Web if you put those four sites in a basket and compared traffic % Gumtree receives 67.98% with Car Sales being its closest competitor with 16.53%

Now Gumtree sells everything under the Sun, so Cars Guide.com.au looks the best Niche website so far.

Looking at Domain metrics, I turn to Semrush, and this is what I see:

carsales.com.au – Ranked No1 for “Car Sales”  – Organic Search traffic 4.1 Million

carsguide.com.au -Ranked No2 for “Car Sales”  – Organic Search traffic 1.2 Million

Drive.com.au -Not Ranked top 10 for “Car Sales”  – Organic Search traffic 287 Thousand

So the clear winner in this battle is Carsales.com.au, and I choose to list the vehicle with them as:

1.I think that they have the highest volume of relevant traffic

and

2. They rank best for the primary root search term with Buyer Intent “Car Sales.”

I ended up spending $80 with them and also a went with a free listing on Gumtree.com.au to spread the reach.

If I had a bigger budget, I probably would have considered carsguide.com.au but Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That:
